Lewis County Opportunities is a Community Action Agency
established in 1965. The agency provides a variety of programs designed to
help people who have experienced financial hardship or victimization. Being
able to assist our community is an honor and a heavy responsibility.
Operating any business in the current economic climate is difficult.
Securing funding, managing day to day operations, and maintaining quality
consumer services are all critical for survival. Our effectiveness though
requires more than endurance; it requires a plan
a strategic one.
In late 2009 the agency began a Strategic Planning process. The previous
plan had reached the extent of useful life and was in need of replacement.
The process was conducted between November 2009 and May 2010 and was
facilitated by Rich LeClerc from the JCC Center for Community Studies. Our
resulting strategic plan is centered upon three primary themes; Workforce
Enhancement, Branding/Marketing, and Facilities Management. The objectives
within these three themes will enhance our ability to achieve our most
important goal; quality services for the people we serve. The written plan

volunteers use a compassionate and respectful approach to promote a higher
