Special Announcement:

If you live outside of Lewis County, NY and are looking for Wheels For Work programs in your area, click here.

With today’s transportation costs on the rise, it’s no wonder working families face difficulty with obtaining affordable, reliable transportation in order to get to and from work. Quite often this can make the difference between keeping and losing a job.

Our Transportation Services Program can make a difference by providing a “jump start” for families residing in Lewis County, NY by helping to:
  • Provide repair work to a family’s existing vehicle;

  • Assist with insurance payments;

  • Assist with other alternative forms of transportation to get to and from work.

The road doesn’t end there. We can also help the family identify their strengths and goals, and work with the family in their efforts to become more self-reliant with their transportation needs and with reaching their other goals in life.

Community Impact At A Glance In 2010, 21 families received loans to acquire a replacement vehicle to remove the barrier of unreliable transportation to and from work.  100 families received assistance with vehicle repairs.
